Site-specific and diffuse pollution

In Switzerland, we distinguish site-specific pollution versus large-scale, diffuse pollution in the soil and subsoil. We also make a linguistic distinction. The site-specific pollution is called contaminated sites, which must fulfill certain criteria for it to legally be a contaminated site. But that is another topic.
